How many types of tea do you know? For many, black tea and green tea are the most common types of tea.Other types of tea such as hibiscus tea and dandelion tea also have health benefits like alleviating inflammation, reducing blood pressure, and minimizing the risk of heart disease.

According to studies white tea contains the same amounts of polyphenols and antioxidants as green tea. Just like green tea, white tea can, therefore, be considered to be one of the best sources of antioxidants.

To improve your health, consider drinking at least one cup of white tea per day to reduce the damaging effects of freeradicals on the cells in the body.  A preliminary study, showed that that daily antioxidant intake helped prevent the damaging effects of oxidation.

Among the beneficial compounds found in white tea are several tannins and polyphenols. To fight the formation of plaque, these chemicals prevent bacteria from growing.   3. Hi Louise, What an interesting and informative post about the great benefits of white tea.
    I have tried green tea and hibiscus tea and find them very palatable, especially the hibiscus tea.
    Do you think that drinking white tea is better than either of these teas?
    Will definitely give it a try. It is always good to try something different and especially when summer comes along if it helps for the weight loss that is a bonus.

    I love white tea! I found it seems easier on my stomach than black tea. I have only had a few kinds of white tea such as one with huckleberry added. I would love to try more varieties of white tea.

    I did not know there were so many health benefits associated with white tea! That is pretty amazing. Tea sounds like an all around super food with cancer fighting, cardiovascular, tooth, weight loss and fat burning benefits. I look forward to reading about more teas on your site.
