This leads to more effective digestion, which as a result reduces the chances of constipation, excessive stomach gas and bloating, stomach cramping and discomfort, and upset stomach.

Regular consumption of cinnamon tea has also been found to reduce the risk of developing Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and other conditions.

One of the most important and probably the most recognized properties of cinnamon is its high cancer fighting antioxidant compounds.

Studies have consistently shown that the powerful antioxidants in cinnamon can inhibit the development of tumors/cancerous cells. It has been widely recognized as a natural chemoprevention agent for its powerful anti-tumor properties.

In one study conducted to evaluate the anti-neoplastic abilities of cinnamon compounds in the treatment of cervical cancer, researchers found various doses of cinnamon could inhibit the growth of cervical cancer cells.

Cancers researchers have been recently looking into cinnamon as a potentially effective treatment for colon cancer. Research carried out in the University of Arizona Cancer Center discovered that a certain compound in cinnamon could be a potent inhibitor of colorectal cancer. The study, which was performed by Donna Zhang and George Wondrak, found that adding cinnamaldehyde, a compound in cinnamon, to the diet of mice protected them against colorectal cancer.

In addition to fighting against cancer, the antioxidants in cinnamon can fight harmful free radicals that cause premature aging and skin damage.

Therefore, don’t stop drinking cinnamon tea. There is more to this tea than just a spicy, delicious flavor.

5.Reduces the Risk of Heart Disease

Various studies have linked some compounds in cinnamon to a reduced risk of heart disease- and it does all this in a number of ways.

Cinnamon reduces triglyceride and total cholesterol levels in the body. This study  conducted on 60 Type 2 Diabetes subjects found that taking 1, 3, and 6g of cinnamon reduced serum glucose, LDL cholesterol, triglyceride, and total cholesterol in the subjects. The study results also suggested that regular intake of cinnamon can reduce risk factors associated with heart disease and other cardiovascular conditions.

In another study, researchers found that regular consumption of cinnamon can reduce fat storage, increase anti-inflammatory molecules, and protect the body from damage caused by stress and environmental factors at the cellular level, thanks to its high antioxidant content.

Recent research has also found that the consumption of cinnamon can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease/damage caused by high-fat foods.
